With all the newborns and kids in my family, I am interested in buying a bond that would eventually be their graduation from high school present. They are all around 1/2/3 years old so I have about 15 years to work with here. What kind of bond should I get so that they can at least put a big fat down payment on a brand new car when the time comes around? I know bonds arent alot of money but several thousands of dollars should be a nice present.

Or should I do something different? I would really like to be able to buy them all brand new cars but I really want something where if I invest now, I can just forget it and cash it when the time comes knowing there will be alot of money? I know nothing's a safe bet but work with me here...

I am thinking long term CD's mutual funds... but as for now.... i wouldnt trust any of the stock market for anything,, until a Liberal gets into office and liberates us into a prosperous community.
